I had a hunch before the season started that this 22 year old (birthday was Thursday) kid was the real deal. Larson set a track record of 183.438 mph to win his first career Sprint Cup pole Friday at Pocono Raceway. Larson started first this year at Richmond after rain wiped out qualifying because of his practice time. But it did not count as an official pole. Kid has a great future ahead of him!
